Jesus Christ has risen from the dead!

This is the most wonderful news in the universe — that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and was raised from the dead three days later. Jesus was crucified and died to pay the penalty for our sins on Good Friday, almost 2,000 years ago. His body was placed in a tomb and a large stone was rolled to block the entrance to the tomb and soldiers guarded the tomb.

Three days later, on the day we celebrate as Easter Sunday, Christ rose from the dead! The soldiers shook for fear and ran, and the stone was rolled away from the tomb. Jesus appeared to His disciples; He was now miraculously alive! Jesus conquered sin and fear and death. Even the grave had no power over Him.

So this day, let us celebrate that Jesus died for our sins and then was raised from the dead. He has risen into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God His Father. All of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior have been given the gift of eternal life. Praise the Lord for His goodness and love.

So this week, let us pray and

* Thank God for sending His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins
* Praise the Lord that Jesus has risen from the dead
* Pray that people all over the world will come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
* Pray that God will bless and protect us.
